Crazy day-- in a good way!
Today has been… surreal. Bizarre. Incredible. Really, really great.
It didn’t start out so well. I woke up with a massive headache, then my roommate called to tell me that she would need the shower when she got home from the gym, yet she didn’t get in when she said she would (as in, I could have been in and out before she even got home), then she was packing, so she needed the bathroom for over an hour and I was sitting there, sweaty and yucky. Blech. (But hey, she left town for a few days, so no worries there!)
But then I got a phone call. It was from a woman I met back in August, with whom I’ve kept in touch. Her coordinator just gave notice, and she needs to fill the position. She told me she was planning to offer the job to a guy at a parallel network, so either the job was available to me (if he says no) or his job would be available to me (if he says yes). I was kind of baffled, and she asked me to come in. So I did.
WOW. I didn’t realize it until she spelled it out for me, but… that wasn’t an interview. It wasn’t about an available job. It was, if this guy says no, the job is MINE. HOLY SHIT. And if he says yes, she’ll see what she can do about getting me his job. But… it would be my dream job. EXACTLY what I want to be doing. HOLY CRAP.
There is a catch, of course. First, obviously, we have to hear from the guy. Then there’s the other network, from whom I’m supposed to hear this week. BUT. The Dream Job has to be settled by Friday, so I can get the other network to hold off for a few days.
HOLY SHIT.
I’m close. Sooooo close. I just hope it happens, or something happens, you know?
And in other news, I finished the Author’s book, which was EXCELLENT, so I wrote that note. I am now waiting for a friend to proof it, then it will be sent. Squee!
